Bless Radio Shack & 30.03.02 18:11 You'd think a cooling fan would not be a hard thing to find. You'd think that a store that sold computers and laptops would have such things in stock, especially since they service computers and laptops as well. HA! Not likely. The closest I came was Radio Shack. And I have to say, bless the boys at Radio Shack. They were soooo helpful. When they found they had none of the particualr model that I needed they decided to try out mine to see what was wrong with it. And wonder of wonders, it worked. I don't quite understand why it wasn't working eariler or why it worked now, but I'm not going to question it. Suffice it to say it works now. Not well, it still makes the most god awful racket, but it works. And that's all I can really ask for. At least it works so I don't have to restrict my computer time until we can find a replacement. Now I have free reign again, which on a holiday weekend is heaven. Thank you Radio Shack. Despite the throngs of people in the malls, I did enjoy my little outing. Though I find myself quite disallusioned by the experience. Now, I'm not a christian, but I find it quite disturbing that such a solemn holiday as the death and resurrection of Christ has come to this. People seem to have completely lost sight of what this holiday is really all about. Everyone I saw today was intent merely on getting gifts and goodies for the kids in their families. Now I'm all for chocolate and stuffed bunnies, but that's not what this holiday is supposed to be about. Society has commercialized these spiritual times so that the original intent has been completely lost. They've done it to Christmas, Thanksgiving and now Easter. Granted this is not a new thing, it's just the first time I ever really noticed it. Enough of that though, it'll only get me going on a topic which will keep me occupied for several pages, at least. I'm feeling so much better today. I guess things really do look better when you step away from the problem and get a good look at the larger picture. So I'm not going home this weekend. There are still a lot of good things in my life. I have friends that love me, family that loves me, and a boyfriend who I love very much. The world hasn't descended into the seventh ring of hell. The sun was shining today. And above all, the spirits were smiling today. |
