I know, I really should have updated this last week after my ultrasound, but after emailing the pics and updates on the pregnancy to family and friends, I was really wiped.

Besides, it was a pretty crappy day for the most part with few real highlights. Not having Junior there really sucked, being as he is my coach and he's supposed to be there. But Chris went with me so I wasn't by myself.

Got to the hospital a full 30 minutes before my appointment only to find out an hour later that they were backed up and I'd have to come back at 1:15pm. Argh. Not a nice thing to do to a pregnant woman who'd been holding her water for an hour and a half. So we went home and did everything all over. Got to the hospital this time at 1pm, only to have to wait another hour.

I partially emptied my bladder twice while we waited, not an easy thing to do. As any woman who's had this done knows, once you start peeing, it kind of hurts to stop. Finally I got to go in. And I got to see baby. I cannot describe how that felt. I'm sure anyone reading this who's been there understands. From what the girl doing the exam said, everything looks good, baby's heartrate is 143 bpm. But unfortunately, like most of the people in my family, baby decided not to cooperate and wouldn't move so she could finish the measurements. So now I have to go back on the 4th for another one.

Junior's still stuck in the country. More went wrong with the car when they rebuilt the frame and he's pretty pissed. I think he's mostly pissed about not being here. So I'm not too mad at him, cause I know how frustrated he must be right now. Hopefully he'll be home in time for the one on the 4th.

Still no idea of the sex of the baby, the girl wouldn't tell me. Then again she's not allowed to say anything about the exam so I'm not surprised. It's possible I can still get some hint from my doctor at my next appointment on the 11th. If not there's always my family back home, some of whom work/ed in hospitals.
