bah humbug on politics & 16.08.04

12:58

The last few days have been pretty hectic. I hate having to do so much of this shower stuff. I almost feel like I'm butting in. But the reality of the situation is that Lisa just doesn't have much time, and Sonya is away for a few days and may not be back until the 21st. Which of course leaves me to help out with the grunt work.

Luckily it isn't all bad. At least it's something else to fill my days. I'm so bored with not being able to work. And it's starting to hit home how little time I'll have to myself in a few short weeks.

I was accused of being a democrat the other night. Now I'm not really political. I vote whichever way I feel is best given the information I have. So, sure I've voted for democrats, but I've also voted for republicans in the last 11 years I've been able to vote. But my father says that my views are democratic.

*shakes head* I hate politics. People don't understand that you can actually support a candidate no matter which party he stands for, because of what he stands for. My father supports NDP now that he lives here in Canada. Personally I don't see the big deal. I'm sorry but I won't support a candidate I don't believe in just because he's backed by a party that I've voted for in the past, as my father does.

It's insanity like that that has gotten the world into so much trouble, in my opinion.

There's enough insanity in my life without adding to it. And election time always adds to it. I'm thankful I'm not living in the states right now. I really don't think I'd be able to make a decision in the upcoming presidential election. Both are pretty bad choices. I think my head would explode before I could make up my mind about which is the lesser of the two evils.

This is also why I don't get into political arguments. They turn into shouting matches. If I want an explosive debate I'll stick to religion. It's far more fun to argue than politics. Especially with my friends.
