New toy and a little TMI & 02.09.04

11:07

Thanks to the generous and talented slodwick [from LJ], I have Gmail! This is so cool. I feel like a little kid with a new toy.

This definately makes up for the last few days. Ironically, despite the bad stuff, I've been in a pretty good mood. And I haven't been overly worried or jittery. Good things, I tell you.

But to back up a bit, on tuesday I drove to a friend's house to return the bowl she had brought her pasta salad in [for the baby shower]. She wasn't home so I left it with Jay, another friend who lives upstairs from her. Of course, there was an incident.

Me: Can you give this to Nicole when she gets home?

Jay: No problem. [insert general chit chat here] Come in and try my pasta sauce, I'm an awesome cook.

We go inside to the kitchen, where his uncle who he takes care of is sitting in his wheelchair.

The Uncle: Your friend sure is fat.

Jay: She's not fat, she's pregnant.

Jay gives me a spoonful of sauce. I ignore rude comment and taste. Yum.

The Uncle: Must be ready to pop soon, you're big.

Me & Jay: Three more weeks.

The Uncle: So, do you know the father?

Excuse me!? Who the fuck does this guy think he is? Have I mentioned that I have never met this man until now?

Me: Uh, yeah I know the father.

Me: [to Jay] Have you seen the new car?

Jay: [looking relieved that I'm not making a scene] No. You got a new car?

We go out side and I show off Junior's new car, chat some more, then leave.

Can you believe that shit? Imagine asking someone you don't even know a question like that.

Today was my doctor's appointment. Not so bad as being accused of being of such loose morals that I wouldn't know who the father of my baby was, but not great either.

My measurements were all good. Gained another pound. Baby's heartrate was 140, the highest it's been all pregnancy. My due date was changed, by a day. And I was violated.

Not really, but that's kind of what it feels like. Doctor had to do a culture to test for Group B strep. And I was told to pull my pants and underwear down over my hips and roll over. *shudder* I think I would rather have had a full pelvic exam. It just felt weird. Course, I don't much like pelvic exams anyway, but somehow they don't seem as bad because you remove your clothes and are covered for the most part. This was just weird, me with my ass hanging out of my pants and fully exposed.

It was funny about the change in my due date [from the 18th to the 19th]. Apparently now my due date falls on my doctor's wedding anniversary. Hehe. I told him I'd try not to have the baby that day so I wouldn't interrupt his plans.

So this Gmail thing definately improved my mood.
