Frequently Asked Questions: & 04.04.02
14:43 (updated)Recently updated 03-19-03. New answers in italics. If you're that curious, you may as well check out my Bio too. Or if you're insanely curious...check out the 99 list.
- How old are you?
- -27 at last count but most days I either feel 17 or 70. 28 now and I still feel like an old lady some days.
- Married, Single or other?
- -Last I checked, other. I am seeing someone though.single again. aren't I the lucky one?
- Any kids?
- -I had a daughter but she died at birth.
- What do you do for a living?
- -Currently, nothing. Previous to this I was a manager at the local Blockbuster. Before that I was a matron for our police force. taking a course in web design and hopefully working at the local market
- Schooling?
- -Well I majored in Criminal Justice with a minor in Psychology, however I did not get to finish my degree. I'm planning to go back to school this fall to finish it up. I think I just answered that.
- Favorite Color?
- -When I was a kid it was purple, as a teen it was black, couple of years ago it was emerald green. Right now it's burgandy.
- Favorite type of music?
- -Now that's a tough one...I love music of almost every kind with few exceptions. Classical, rap, country, rock, heavy metal, alternative, hip-hop...pretty much everything, including video game soundtracks.
- As a child, what did you want to be when you grew up?
- -An archeologist, which is pretty common I hear. Then an astronaut, then a lawyer....the list is quite extensive I'm afraid.
- Favorite flowers?
- -All of them. I love flowers. I love getting flowers. But I don't like getting roses very often. They die far too quickly. I would much rather a mixed bouquet of carnations, daisies and things like that. They smell beautiful and last ages longer.
- Ideal man?
- -ugh...hate questions like this but here goes: he'd have to be funny, I love a guy that can make me laugh; he'd have to be smart, dumb guys are no fun to argue with; he'd have to be patient, as I can be a real pain in the ass sometimes. But I think the most important thing would be that he believed in me.
- If you could meet anyone living/dead, who would it be?
- -that's another tough one. There's so many people I'd like to meet. Living, I'd have to say Stephen King. He's one of the few of my favorite authors I haven't gotten to meet. Dead, I guess it would be a 3-way tie between Einstien, Marilyn Monroe and Annie Mae Pictou Aquash. Though I'm leaning more towards Annie Mae.
- Why?
- -oops...well I'd like to meet King because I love his books and that he'd be pretty interesting to talk to. Einstien because I hear he was not only a genius but pretty funny too. Marilyn because she led such an interesting and sad life. Annie Mae because she's my hero.
- Do you have any annoying habits?
- -oh do I ever! I bite my nails on occasion, I emulate someone possessed while sleeping (tossing and turning endlessly), I constantly play with my hair, I love to argue, I have a habit of saying exactly what I'm thinking at the worst times. And those are only the ones that come to mind right away.
- Is there a particular book that changed your life or perspective on life?
- -where'd that one come from? I guess you could say yes...kinda. I was 10 and my step-father brought home a box of books he'd bought at an auction right before summer vacation started. I don't really remember all the titles but I know they were mostly the classics: shakespeare, tolstoy, byron and tennyson. I read the entire box by the end of summer. Ever since then I have loved to read. I will read just about anything, but my favorite are sci/fi, fantasy and historical; and of course the classics.
- What was the most important influence in your life?
- -I guess if you mean a person, I'd say my grandfather. He was one of the most patient men I've ever met. And hard-working does not begin to cover him. He watched two of his babies die shortly after birth. Despite being married, he raised my mother, aunt and uncle by himself (as well as my older brother); my grandmother was a bit spoiled and never lifted a hand to do anything. He always helped out others no matter the cost to himself. And through it all he worked sometimes two or three jobs at a time. When he dies a part of me will be forever saddened. my grandfather passed away late last year. I miss him more every day.
- If you could change any one event in your life, make it not have happened, what would it be?
- -{Laughing my ass off at this one}I'm laughing because I find this question hysterical. Despite any bad, or even horrible, things that may have happened in my life, I wouldn't change a thing. Every moment in my life, every event, every decision, every person brought about the person I am today. I may not like myself on occasion, but I wouldn't change myself so drastically. I wouldn't change all the good things that have happened just to erase one bad memory. For instance if I said I would go back and make the rape not have happened, that would erase my daughter. And though she died at birth, I am better for having had her in my life, even for the briefest of moments. So...I wouldn't change anything. You can't change the past...only learn from it.
This was a questionnaire that was sent to me via email by a friend who just loves these kind of things. Maybe you'll get some insight to me from it. Even if you don't...maybe you should copy the questions and pester your friends with them.
